Having worked in radio for over 30 years, Marcella Zemanek is one of radio's most respected women, having worked alongside some of Australia's leading radio personalities, including John Laws, Stan Zemanek, Alan Jones, Brian Bury and John Stanley. In 1981 she succumbed to the irrefutable charms of one of these men and married the love of her life, Stan Zemanek.
When Stan was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioma in 2006, all Marcella's energies were concentrated in helping fight this disease. Since Stan passed away, Marcella has committed her time as an active member on the Brain Cancer Action Week committee to raise funds and awareness of brain cancer. To date, she has successfully helped to raise over $800,000 in donations through a direct mail appeal. She is passionate about finding a cure for brain cancer.

Dr Kerrie McDonald is originally from Melbourne. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in the field of plant pathology. She remained in this field for an additional 3 years which included a postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford. At the end of 2004, Kerrie took up a position at the Kolling Institute of Medical Research in the field of brain cancer. During her 5 years, Kerrie was instrumental in setting up brain tumour banking, developing large clinical cohorts and flourished in the field of biomarker discovery.
In 2010, Kerrie took up a new role as Chair of the Cure For Life Neuro-oncology Group at the Lowy Cancer Research Centre, UNSW in March 2010. Kerrie runs a team of three postdoctoral scientists, a tumour bank officer and supervises 5 PhD students. Her work focuses on understanding brain tumour migration and invasiveness and biomarker discovery. She has a passion for tumour banking as demonstrated through her co-leadership of AGOG (Australian Genomics and Clinical Outcomes of Glioma) which is a Cancer Council funded partnership grant between NSW and WA. She was recently awarded a Cancer Institute NSW Career Development Fellowship and is the current Chair of the NSW Oncology Group (NSWOG) for neuro-oncology.
